Skyler Takes 3rd at CMP Air Rifle Camp in Snohomish, WA
In mid-July, Skyler and Erik -- "
Team Cruyningen" -- attended the CMP's air rifle camp in Snohomish, WA.

Congratulations to Skyler who earned 3rd place in the finals -- an amazing accomplishment since he competed with a very old school style pump action Daisy air rifle against a dozen other sporter competitors with 'state of the art' Crosman Challenger pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) rifles.

We're looking forward to "Team Cruyningen's" contributions to our future matches.

Orion Monthly Air Rifle Match
Congratulations to Kylar and Isaac for representing SCVRC Juniors in the August Orion National Air Rifle Match.

Everyone is welcome to participate in these matches, see Coach Mike, Brian, or Nick to participate.

Carlos, Long, and Sky Earn Distinguished Expert Awards!
NRA Distinguished Expert (DE) is the top award level in the NRA's Marksmanship Qualification Program.  Three of our athletes had the determination and skills necessary to recently complete the year-long process and earn this top award.

Congratulations go to Carlos, Long, and Sky for reaching the ultimate level of our award program!

SCVRC President, Than Hendricks, recognized all three shooters during our Club's annual picnic on July 15th.  Also, their names will be engraved on the recognition plaques within the range as inspiration to all of our shooters to strive to be their best.

Rose, White, and Blue Parade ""Results:

From organizer, Dave Truslow:
"SCVRC Juniors distinguished themselves for the 3rd year at the 2018 July  4th Rose, White, and Blue parade.

Out of 105 participating units, SCVRC Juniors were awarded "Most Patriotic" of all the parade participants.

SCVRC's participation generates considerable interest in shooting sports and helps to educate the public. As before, no negative comments were heard - only positive enthusiasm. Uncle Sam was particularly impressed as shown in the photo.

Special thanks to Norlan, Nick, Brian, and Nicki for their help in this
year's parade."

We all owe Dave a big round of virtual applause!  Dave has been one of our programs most supportive volunteers:
  • Dave pays for our parade entry fee every year
  • He furnishes the T-shirts our parade participants wear
  • He supplies the sweatshirts our elite shooters wear during the CMP Air Rifle clinics
Please say "thank you" to Dave for all he does for our program when you see him at the range!

Here's the "Most Patriotic" ribbon, just to the left of Uncle Sam.
