NRA FIRST Steps Rifle Course

Junior Rifle Shooters – Learn Safety & Marksmanship

The Santa Clara Valley Rifle Club (SCVRC) teaches NRA FIRST Steps Rifle Orientation to juniors, between the ages of 10 and 17, on the fourth Saturdays of every month (except May and December).

In this 3-hour class, students will learn:
  • NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; 
  • ammunition components and purpose
  • shooting fundamentals
  • how to clean rifles
Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and a FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.

Successfully completing this class qualifies participants to join SCVRC's junior rifle and junior pistol programs.

Class Fee is $20.00.
